Ruth Wendy Langsford (born 17 March 1960) is a well-known English television presenter. She has hosted many popular TV shows. These include This Morning, where she was the longest-serving presenter. She also presented Gift Wrapped and How the Other Half Lives. Since 1999, Ruth has been a regular on the ITV talk show Loose Women. In 2017, she showed off her dance moves on Strictly Come Dancing.

Ruth Langsford's TV Career
Ruth Langsford started her TV journey in Plymouth, England. She worked as a continuity announcer and newscaster for a local ITV station called Television South West (TSW). She left TSW in 1993 when a new company took over.
Early TV Roles
From 1999 to 2002, Ruth was a regular on the daytime chat show Loose Women. She returned to the show in 2010 as a stand-in host. By 2014, she became a regular host again. She now takes turns hosting with other presenters like Andrea McLean and Kaye Adams.
In 2000, Ruth became a guest presenter on This Morning. She became a regular host in 2006. She often hosted with Phillip Schofield. Later, Eamonn Holmes joined her to host the Friday shows. This made her the longest-serving presenter on the program.
Ruth also hosted other shows like The Answer Lies in the Soil and The Really Useful Show. She narrated a TV series called Zoo Story in 2004.
Game Shows and More
In 2010, Ruth was a contestant on Marco's Kitchen Burnout. She also competed in Born to Shine in 2011.
In 2014, Ruth and Eamonn Holmes hosted a quiz show together. It was called Gift Wrapped. They hosted ten episodes of the show.

Strictly Come Dancing
On 9 August 2017, it was announced that Ruth would join Strictly Come Dancing. This is a very popular dance competition. Her professional dance partner was Anton du Beke. They danced together for several weeks. Ruth was the seventh celebrity to leave the show. Her last dance was on 12 November 2017.
After Strictly, Ruth continued her TV work. From 2018, she co-presented Do the Right Thing with Eamonn Holmes. This show was on Channel 5. In 2019 and 2020, she also hosted a dieting series. It was called Lose a Stone in Four Weeks for Summer.
Other Work and Life
In September 2010, Ruth co-hosted a breakfast radio show. It was on BBC London 94.9 with Paul Ross.
Ruth has also worked as a brand ambassador. In 2011, she worked for Playtex. In 2013, she became an ambassador for Clarivu. She has also written columns for magazines like Woman Magazine and Tesco Magazine. Ruth was also a judge for the Pride of Britain Awards in 2016.
Personal Life
Ruth Langsford went to Grey Coat Hospital school in London. In 1996, she started dating Eamonn Holmes. They kept their relationship private for some time. On 26 February 2002, Ruth gave birth to their son, Jack Alexander Holmes. Ruth and Eamonn got married on 26 June 2010. They lived in Hersham, Surrey. In May 2024, Ruth and Eamonn announced they were separating.
