SCR Corporation Sdn Bhd, also known as SCR, is a popular fast-food restaurant chain from Malaysia. They are famous for their delicious chicken rice, which is certified as halal. The company started in 1987 in Sarawak.
SCR has grown a lot since it began. It is now one of the biggest local food brands in East Malaysia. You can also find SCR restaurants in other countries like Brunei and Indonesia.
The Story of SCR
SCR was first called Singapore Chicken Rice. Later, it changed its name to just SCR. In 2007, they also launched SCR Xpress. This new type of restaurant offered a mix of old favorite dishes and new ones.
The company began as a partnership between Singapore and Sarawak. The Singaporean partner brought the special chicken rice recipes. The very first SCR restaurant was a small, air-conditioned place in Song Thian Cheok Road. It was only about 1,200 square feet.
Over the years, SCR has opened many more restaurants. Today, there are 30 SCR outlets. The company plans to open even more restaurants in the future. They want to expand across Asia by letting other businesses open SCR franchises.

SCR has 30 restaurants mainly in Sarawak, Malaysia. You can find them in big cities like Kuching, Sibu, and Miri. They also have restaurants in Bintulu, Limbang, and Sarikei.
In Sabah, another part of Malaysia, SCR has a restaurant in Kota Kinabalu. More restaurants are planned for Sandakan, Kota Marudu, and Keningau.
