Sara Rue (born Sara Schlackman on January 26, 1979) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles as Carmen Ferrara in the TV show Popular and as Claude Casey in Less than Perfect. She also played the Attorney General in the movie Idiocracy.
In 2011, Sara hosted a reality TV show called Shedding for the Wedding on The CW. She also had a recurring role as Brenda in the comedy series Rules of Engagement. Later, she played Kim in the sitcom Malibu Country and was part of the main cast in the comedy series Impastor. Many people also know her as Olivia Caliban from the second season of the Netflix show A Series of Unfortunate Events. She also has a recurring role in The Rookie.

Early Life and Beginnings
Sara Rue grew up in New York City. She was the older of two daughters. Her parents worked in Broadway theatre, which is why she was around acting from a young age. Sara is Jewish.
Starting Her Acting Journey
Sara began acting when she was just nine years old. Her first movie role was in 1988's Rocket Gibraltar, where she played Kevin Spacey's daughter. She also played a younger version of Roseanne in an episode of the TV show Roseanne.

Sara has also been in several movies. These include A Map of the World, Can't Hardly Wait, A Slipping Down Life, and Gypsy 83. She had a small part as a babysitter in the horror film The Ring. From 2010 to 2013, Sara had a recurring role as Brenda in Rules of Engagement. She played Reba McEntire's neighbor, Kim Sallinger, in the ABC show Malibu Country, which ran for one season. In 2012, she had the main role in the movie Dorfman in Love.
In 2014, Sara appeared in a recurring role as Candace in the CBS sitcom Mom. From 2015 to 2016, she was a main character, Dora, in the TV Land comedy Impastor. She also had a recurring role as Nancy Granville in ABC's American Housewife.
In 2017, Sara was cast as Olivia Caliban in the second season of the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events. She has also appeared in The Rookie in recent years.
Personal Life
Sara Rue married filmmaker Mischa Livingstone in 2001, but they divorced in 2007.
On May 21, 2011, Sara married teacher Kevin Price in a traditional Jewish wedding. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Talulah, in February 2013. In November 2016, they adopted a second daughter named Adelaide.
