Says was once a small town, also called a municipality, in the Graubünden area of Switzerland. It was located in the Landquart district. On January 1, 2008, Says became part of its nearby neighbor, Trimmis.

History of Says

Says was first mentioned in old records way back in 1222. At that time, it was called in Seians. Later, in 1258, its name appeared as Seyes.

For a while, Says was its own independent town. This happened in 1880 when it separated from Trimmis. However, in 2008, Says and Trimmis joined together again.

Geography of Says

Says covers an area of about 14.4 square kilometers (about 5.6 square miles). A large part of this land, about 34.7%, is used for farming. Forests cover even more, about 51.9% of the area.

Only a small portion, 0.9%, has buildings or roads. The rest of the land, about 12.5%, is made up of things like rivers, glaciers, or mountains.

The village of Says is built on a high area, like a natural shelf, above the Rhine river valley near Chur. Says is divided into three main parts: Valtanna, Untersays, and Obersays.
