Valzeina is a small village located in the beautiful Prättigau valley in Switzerland. It used to be its own town, called a municipality, in the Graubünden area. On January 1, 2011, Valzeina joined with two other towns, Fanas and Grüsch, to form a larger municipality named Grüsch.

Valzeina is quite old! The first time anyone wrote about Valzeina was in the year 1367. Back then, it was called Valtzennas. This shows it has been a part of the region for a very long time.

Valzeina covers an area of about 11.4 square kilometers (that's about 4.4 square miles). Imagine a space about 11.4 times the size of a large park!

A big part of Valzeina's land is covered by forests, about 53.2%. This means there are lots of trees and nature to explore. About 40.3% of the land is used for farming. This is where people grow crops or raise animals. A small part, 2.5%, has buildings and roads. The rest of the land, about 3.9%, is made up of rivers, mountains, or other natural areas that aren't used for farming or building.

Valzeina isn't just one big town. It's made up of several smaller groups of houses. These are called scattered settlements. You can find them in areas like Vorder-Valzeina, Hinter-Valzeina, and Sigg. These areas are all on the right side of the valley.
