Being an Ambassador

An ambassador is a special representative sent by one country to another. Their job is to help keep good relationships between the two countries. They also work to protect their own country's interests.

Becoming an Ambassador

On February 17, 2017, news reports said that President Donald Trump was thinking about making Scott Brown the U.S. ambassador to New Zealand.

By April 20, 2017, it was announced that he had been chosen for the job. To become an ambassador, a person must be approved by the United States Senate. On June 8, 2017, the Senate voted 94 to 4 to confirm his nomination. This meant he officially became the ambassador.
