Scout Taylor-Compton was born in Long Beach, California. Her mother has Mexican family roots. Her father works as a funeral director, which means he helps arrange funerals. Scout has said that she grew up around the horror genre and often visited her dad at his work. This made her comfortable with things that might seem scary to others.
Early Acting Days
Scout started acting in 1998. She appeared in a film called A.W.O.L. and a short film named Thursday Afternoon. After that, she had small roles in popular TV shows like Ally McBeal, ER, and Frasier. After Halloween, she appeared in the TV movie Love's Unfolding Dream and another horror film, April Fool's Day. Even though she enjoyed horror films, Scout said she wanted to try other types of roles. She wanted to choose projects that she felt passionate about, like actress Scarlett Johansson does.
In 2009, Scout returned as Laurie Strode in Halloween II, the sequel to Rob Zombie's first Halloween film. She also appeared in the movie Obsessed with Beyoncé.
