The Scugog River is a river found in the city of Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. It flows through the beautiful Kawartha Lakes area. This river is part of a bigger water system called the Great Lakes Basin. It is also an important branch of the Trent-Severn Waterway.
The River's Journey
The Scugog River starts its journey from the northeast end of Lake Scugog. It then flows north. The river passes under Ontario Highway 7.
Next, it goes through the community of Lindsay. In Lindsay, the river is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Here, you can find Lock 33 and some control dams. These structures help manage the water flow.
The river finally reaches its end at Sturgeon Lake. From Sturgeon Lake, the water continues to flow. It travels through the Otonabee River and then the Trent River. Eventually, all this water reaches Lake Ontario.
What Are Tributaries?
