What is Sea Princesses About?
The stories take place in a secret underwater kingdom called Salacia. This kingdom is full of princes and princesses who are different kinds of sea animals. The kings and queens of Salacia were worried about problems with people from the land. So, they told their children not to have any contact with people on the surface. The land people do not even know Salacia exists!
The show's main characters are three princesses. They live, go to school, and play together as best friends. They are Polvina, the princess of the Octopus Kingdom, Tubarina, the princess of the Shark Kingdom, and Ester, the princess of the Starfish Kingdom. Together, they explore and solve the mysteries of Salacia.
Meet the Characters
Here are some of the fun characters you'll meet in Sea Princesses:
- Polvina (also known as Pulpita or Pulpina) – She is the pink Sea Princess of the Octopus Kingdom. Polvina is a calm and quiet girl. She is a bit shy, just like octopuses can be. Her best friends are Ester and Tubarina. They always go on exciting adventures together.
- Ester (also known as Estella) – She is the yellow Sea Princess of the Starfish Kingdom. Ester is Polvina's best friend. She often visits the Octopus Palace after school and on weekends. Ester is very curious. She loves to read and watch nature shows on TV. She dreams of seeing the land above the water and the stars in the sky.
- Tubarina (also known as Tiburina) – She is the blue Sea Princess of the Sharks. Her father, King Shark, is one of the most powerful leaders in Salacia. Tubarina is very clever. She wants to show everyone that sharks are not mean, even though some people think they are.
- Marcelo – He is the Prince of Hammerhead Sharks. He is also Tubarina's cousin. Marcelo moved to the Shark Castle while his parents were traveling. He likes to tease the girls and is always great at sports. Sometimes he argues with Tubarina, but deep down, they are like siblings.
- Bia (also known as Bea) – She is the princess of the Abyssal Kingdom. This is a very deep part of the ocean. Bia helps keep order in the Beyondness Sea. She also takes care of the throne when her parents are away. She carries a special scepter that glows. Unlike the other princesses, she goes to night school. She is very good friends with Polvina, Ester, and Tubarina.
- Hugo – He is the Prince of Turtles. He is next in line for the throne with his twin sister, Tata. Hugo loves sports, especially exciting ones. He is Marcelo's best friend, which sometimes leads to funny mix-ups.
- Marli (also known as Marley) – She is the Princess of Swordfish. Marli can be a bit arrogant and likes to compete with Ester at school and in activities. But even with her competitive side, she is a good person. In the books, she is actually shy and quiet! Her crown looks like a happy swordfish in her hair.
- Isa – The Princess of the Penguins. Isa is the only student at the School of the Sea who does not live underwater. She lives in the South Pole, in the Kingdom of Penguins. Isa used to be afraid of water. But with help, she got over her fear. Now, she wears a cute little Santa-Claus helper hat on her crown.
