Early Life and Discovery
Oh Se-hun was born in Seoul, South Korea. He has one older brother. In 2013, he graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul, a high school famous for training young artists.
Sehun's journey to stardom began when he was just 12 years old. A casting agent from SM Entertainment spotted him while he was having lunch with his friends. After four auditions over two years, he officially joined the company in 2008 to train as a performer.
Career as a Performer
Debut with Exo
On January 10, 2012, Sehun was revealed as the fifth member of the new boy band, Exo. The group released their first mini-album, Mama, in April 2012 and quickly became very popular.
Solo Work and Exo-SC
While still a part of Exo, Sehun began working on his own projects. In 2016, he won a Weibo Star Award, which was voted for by fans on the Chinese social media site Sina Weibo.
In 2018, he starred in the action show Dokgo Rewind. That same year, he and fellow Exo member Chanyeol released a song together called "We Young." This led to them forming a new group called Exo-SC. In July 2019, Exo-SC released their first album, What a Life.
Sehun also became a regular cast member on the Netflix variety show Busted! in 2017, appearing in all three seasons.
Acting Career
Sehun has built a successful acting career. In 2021, he appeared in the Chinese movie Catman. This was special because it was one of the first movies released in China to feature a South Korean star after a period of restrictions.
The same year, he had a supporting role in the Korean drama Now, We Are Breaking Up. In 2022, he made his first appearance in a major Korean movie, The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure. In 2023, he played the main character in the drama series All That We Loved.
Fashion and Brand Deals
Sehun is known for his great sense of style. He has attended fashion shows for the famous brand Louis Vuitton in Paris and was named the "Best Dressed Man" at their show for two years in a row (2017 and 2018).
In 2018, he was on the cover of Vogue Korea for its 22nd anniversary. The magazine with his cover became the best-selling issue in the magazine's history.
He has also worked with many luxury brands. In 2020, he became the new face of Dior Men. A year later, in 2021, he was named Dior's first male global ambassador, meaning he represents the brand all over the world.
