Starting His Comic Journey
Shane Davis learned his craft at The Kubert School. This school is located in his hometown of Dover, New Jersey. It is a well-known place for aspiring comic artists.
He began his career in the comic book world in 2003. His first work for DC Comics was drawing Robin #110. He also contributed to JLA-Z #3. In the next year, he drew for other DC titles. These included Nightwing #88 and Wonder Woman #201. He also worked on a Marvel Comics book called Marvel Halloween Ashcan 2004.
Over the next few years, Shane Davis illustrated many different comics. He worked for both DC Comics and Marvel Comics. Some of his projects included Marvel Age Spider-Man, Action Comics, and Batman. One of his notable Batman stories was in 2006. It was Batman Annual #25. This comic featured the return of a character named Jason Todd. In the same year, he drew for Jay Faerber's series, Noble Causes #17, for Image Comics. Davis also drew a miniseries called Mystery in Space vol. 2. This series was written by Jim Starlin and featured the character Captain Comet.
Big Projects and Famous Heroes
In 2007, Shane Davis illustrated the first issue of a big crossover story. This story was called "The Lightning Saga." It brought together the JLA and the JSA. After that, he became the main artist for Superman/Batman. He drew issues #44 through #49 of that series.
In 2008, writer Geoff Johns chose Davis to be the artist for a special comic. This comic was a tie-in to the Final Crisis event. It was a one-shot comic called Rage of the Red Lanterns. This story helped set up events for the main Green Lantern comic. It also led to the big 2009 crossover event called Blackest Night.
Shane Davis also worked with writer J. Michael Straczynski. They created the Superman: Earth One graphic novel. This book was published in 2010. A second volume of Superman: Earth One was released in 2012. These graphic novels tell new origin stories for Superman.
Recent Adventures in Comics
Since 2013, Shane Davis has continued to work on exciting projects. He worked on the Shadow Walk graphic novel for Legendary Comics. He also drew a Batman story for the Legends of the Dark Knight series. In 2017, he wrote and drew the main story in The New Gods Special #1.
