Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay (born March 30, 1899 – died September 22, 1970) was a famous Indian writer. He wrote in the Bengali language. He also worked in Bengali movies and Bollywood. His most well-known character is the fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi.

About Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay
Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay was born in Jaunpur, India. His family's main home was in Purnia, Bihar. But they originally came from Baranagar, North Kolkata, West Bengal.
Early Life and School
He finished high school in 1915. Then he joined Vidyasagar College in Calcutta. While he was a student there, he published his first book. It was a collection of poems called Jaubansmriti. He was only 20 years old then.
In 1919, he earned his B.A. degree. He later studied law in Patna. After that, he spent all his time writing stories and books.
Sharadindu's Famous Characters
Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay created many memorable characters. His detective stories are very popular. He also wrote historical adventures and ghost stories.
Byomkesh Bakshi: The Truth-Seeker
Byomkesh Bakshi is Sharadindu's most famous character. He is a clever detective. Byomkesh calls himself a Satyanweshi. This means "truth-seeker" in Bengali. He solves many difficult mysteries.

Boroda is a unique character. He is known as a "Bhootanweshi," which means "ghost-hunter." He often meets and talks with ghosts in his adventures. In one story, Byomkesh O Boroda, the detective Byomkesh even meets Boroda.
