Sharrott Winery (pronounced SHARR-ət) is a place in Blue Anchor, New Jersey, where grapes are grown to make wine. A winery is like a farm and factory combined. It is located in Winslow Township, Camden County.
Before it became a winery, the land was an apple orchard. The first grapevines were planted in 2005. Sharrott Winery opened its doors to visitors in 2008. Today, it has 6 acres of land where grapes are grown. The winery produces about 4,600 cases of wine each year. A "case" is usually 12 bottles. The winery is named after the Sharrott family, who own it.
What Kinds of Wines Does Sharrott Winery Make?
Sharrott Winery is located in a special area called the Outer Coastal Plain AVA. This area is known for growing good grapes. The winery grows many types of grapes. These include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Fredonia, Merlot, Pinot gris, Riesling, Vidal blanc, and Vignoles (Ravat 51).
Besides grape wines, Sharrott Winery also makes fruit wines. These special drinks are made from other fruits. They use blueberries, cranberries, and peaches.

How Sharrott Winery Operates
Sharrott Winery uses solar energy to power its entire facility. This means they use power from the sun, which is good for the environment.
The winery has a special permit called a plenary winery license. This license allows them to make as much wine as they want. It also lets them have up to 15 other places where they can sell their products. They can even ship up to 12 cases of wine per year to customers.
Sharrott Winery is part of two important groups. These are the Garden State Wine Growers Association and the Outer Coastal Plain Vineyard Association. These groups help wineries work together.
In 2013, Sharrott Winery did something new. It became the first winery in New Jersey to sell its products at a theatre. This means people watching a show could also buy wine by the glass.
