Shaznay Lewis, born Tricia Marie Lewis on October 14, 1975, is a talented English singer and songwriter. She became famous as a member of the girl group All Saints. Shaznay helped start the group with Melanie Blatt in 1993.
As part of All Saints, Shaznay won two Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello Award. She also helped write three of the group's five number-one songs in the UK. These hit songs were "Never Ever", "Bootie Call", and "Pure Shores". In 2002, Shaznay also acted in the popular movie Bend It Like Beckham.
Shaznay started her solo music career in 2004. Her first album, Open, reached number 22 on the UK Albums Chart. It included the top 10 song "Never Felt Like This Before". Her second album, Pages, was released on May 17, 2024.

Music Career Highlights
Starting with All Saints (1993–2001)
Shaznay Lewis met Melanie Blatt in 1993 at a recording studio in London. They decided to record music together. Soon, they formed a group called All Saints 1.9.7.5. Later, the group became known simply as All Saints. After a change in members, Nicole and Natalie Appleton joined the group.
In 1997, All Saints became very successful around the world. Their song "Never Ever" was a huge hit. Shaznay helped write this song, and it topped the music charts in the UK and Australia. The song sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK.
That same year, the group released their first album, All Saints. Shaznay co-wrote most of the songs on this album. It reached number two in the UK and sold 1.5 million copies. In 2000, the group had another number-one song called "Pure Shores". Shaznay wrote this song with William Orbit. Their fifth number-one song was "Black Coffee".
All Saints broke up in early 2001. Shaznay then started working on her own music. In the same year, she won an Ivor Novello Award for her songwriting.
Solo Album Open (2002–2004)
In 2004, Shaznay released her first solo song, "Never Felt Like This Before". This song reached number 8 in the UK. On July 19, she released her first solo album, Open. The album reached number 22 in the UK. Later that year, she released another song called "You".
Shaznay also appeared in some movies during this time. She played the role of Mel in the movie Bend It Like Beckham in 2002. This film was nominated for important awards like the BAFTA and Golden Globe awards. She also had a role in the film Hideous Man in 2002. In November 2004, Shaznay took part in Band Aid 20. This was a special recording of the song "Do They Know It's Christmas" to raise money for charity.
All Saints Reunion and Songwriting (2006–2019)
All Saints got back together on January 24, 2006. They released a new album called Studio 1 later that year. Their comeback song, "Rock Steady", was very popular and reached number 3 in the UK. However, their album Studio 1 only reached number 40. After this, All Saints left their record label.
In 2008, Shaznay was featured on a song called "Daddy-O" by Wideboys. This song reached number 32 in the UK. Shaznay also wrote songs for other artists. She wrote "Reach Out" for Westlife and "Black Heart" for Stooshe. In 2012, she worked with the original members of Sugababes to write new music.
In 2014, All Saints reunited again to perform with the Backstreet Boys on their UK tour. On January 27, 2016, All Saints announced their fourth album, Red Flag. The first song from this album was "One Strike". All Saints also released another album in 2018 called Testament. Shaznay wrote songs for both of these albums. To support their music, All Saints went on two tours in the UK. They also performed at festivals and were special guests on Take That's tour.
In 2019, Shaznay helped write the theme music for the Netflix show 'Turn Up Charlie' with Idris Elba.
New Album Pages (2023–Present)
On January 12, 2024, Shaznay released "Miracle". This was her first solo song in twenty years. Shaznay said the song was "a love song to myself." It was about her journey over the past 25 years and where she is now. She said it was a message to encourage her to write music again with confidence.
On January 29, 2024, it was announced that Shaznay would release her second solo album, Pages, on May 17, 2024. Other songs from the album, like "Kiss of Life", "Good Mourning" (with Shola Ama and General Levy), and "Got to Let Go", were released before the album. Music videos were made for "Kiss of Life" and "Good Mourning".
About Shaznay's Life
Shaznay Lewis was born in Islington, London. Her father was from Barbados, and her mother was from Jamaica.
When she was a teenager, Shaznay played football for Arsenal L.F.C.. This is interesting because her family supported a different team, Spurs.
On August 21, 2004, Shaznay married a dancer named Christian "Storm" Horsfall. They had their first child, a son named Tyler-Xaine, in February 2006. In November 2009, Shaznay and Christian had their second child, a daughter named Tigerlily.
