Music Career Highlights

Starting with All Saints (1993–2001)

Shaznay Lewis met Melanie Blatt in 1993 at a recording studio in London. They decided to record music together. Soon, they formed a group called All Saints 1.9.7.5. Later, the group became known simply as All Saints. After a change in members, Nicole and Natalie Appleton joined the group.

In 1997, All Saints became very successful around the world. Their song "Never Ever" was a huge hit. Shaznay helped write this song, and it topped the music charts in the UK and Australia. The song sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK.

That same year, the group released their first album, All Saints. Shaznay co-wrote most of the songs on this album. It reached number two in the UK and sold 1.5 million copies. In 2000, the group had another number-one song called "Pure Shores". Shaznay wrote this song with William Orbit. Their fifth number-one song was "Black Coffee".

All Saints broke up in early 2001. Shaznay then started working on her own music. In the same year, she won an Ivor Novello Award for her songwriting.

Solo Album Open (2002–2004)

In 2004, Shaznay released her first solo song, "Never Felt Like This Before". This song reached number 8 in the UK. On July 19, she released her first solo album, Open. The album reached number 22 in the UK. Later that year, she released another song called "You".

Shaznay also appeared in some movies during this time. She played the role of Mel in the movie Bend It Like Beckham in 2002. This film was nominated for important awards like the BAFTA and Golden Globe awards. She also had a role in the film Hideous Man in 2002. In November 2004, Shaznay took part in Band Aid 20. This was a special recording of the song "Do They Know It's Christmas" to raise money for charity.

In 2014, All Saints reunited again to perform with the Backstreet Boys on their UK tour. On January 27, 2016, All Saints announced their fourth album, Red Flag. The first song from this album was "One Strike". All Saints also released another album in 2018 called Testament. Shaznay wrote songs for both of these albums.
