Historical Places to Visit
Shen County has some interesting historical sites. These places tell stories about the past.
The Ancient Han Family Tombs
The Han Family Tombs (韩氏家族墓地) are a very old burial site. It's where Han Yunzhong, a leader from the Tang dynasty era, and his family were buried. This complex has large stone turtles called bixi carrying tall stone tablets. There are also other stone statues, like those found along a "spirit way" leading to a tomb. This site is so important that it's on China's national list of major historical and cultural places. You can find it near Liangpiying Village (梁丕营村) in Dongduzhuang Town (董杜庄镇).
Tomb of Ma Benzhai
Another important historical site is the tomb of Ma Benzhai (1902—1944). He was a brave leader of a volunteer group of Hui people. This group fought against invaders during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
