Shockmain Davis's Football Journey
Starting in the NFL
Shockmain Davis began his professional football journey in 2000. He was signed by the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). This happened even though he wasn't chosen in the NFL draft. He played in twelve games for the Patriots during that year.
Moving to Other Teams
In 2002, Shockmain joined the Seattle Seahawks. He made it through most of the team tryouts but was released before the season started. The next year, 2003, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL. Unfortunately, he broke his leg during training camp.
Shockmain also played for the Beaumont Drillers in the NIFL. In 2004, the Green Bay Packers signed him. They sent him to play in NFL Europe, a league that helped players develop their skills.
Success and Challenges in Europe
While playing in NFL Europe, Shockmain Davis became a star kick returner. He was so good that he made the All-NFL Europe team. He had 19 kick returns, gaining a total of 571 yards. This meant he averaged over 30 yards each time he returned the ball. He even scored two touchdowns from kick returns.
However, his career faced more challenges. In 2005, he broke his leg again and was released by the Packers.
Final Years in the CFL
After recovering, Shockmain signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL. Later that year, he was traded to the Toronto Argonauts. During a game against the Montreal Alouettes, he suffered a serious knee injury. He tore his ACL, which is a major ligament in the knee. Shockmain Davis decided to retire from professional football shortly after this injury. His last team was the Toronto Argonauts.
