Blane Muise (born on May 4, 1993), known by her stage name Shygirl, is an English singer, DJ, rapper, and songwriter. She is also a co-founder of the record label and group called Nuxxe. Shygirl's music mixes different styles like dance music, hip-hop, and electronic sounds. Her unique style is sometimes called "experimental pop" or "deconstructed club" music, which means it plays with traditional song structures and sounds. She has also been linked to the "hyperpop" music scene, which is known for its bright, futuristic, and often exaggerated sounds.
Shygirl became well-known after working with her friend and fellow artist Sega Bodega. She also collaborated with famous experimental music producers like Arca and Sophie. Even superstar Rihanna noticed her, using Nuxxe tracks in her Fenty Beauty commercials and fashion shows. Shygirl has released many songs since 2016. She has also put out three EPs (Extended Plays) called Cruel Practice, Alias, and Club Shy. Her first full album, Nymph, came out on September 30, 2022. Music critics really loved it.
