Victoria Beverley Walker (born on April 19, 2001), known as PinkPantheress, is a talented British singer, songwriter, and music producer. Her music mixes different styles like R&B, drum and bass, UK garage, house, and alternative pop. She often uses parts of songs from the 1990s and 2000s, called sampling. Her lyrics are often like a friendly stream of thoughts.

PinkPantheress was born in Bath, Somerset, and grew up in Kent, England. She started her music journey in 2021 while studying in London. She made songs using a program called GarageBand and shared them on SoundCloud and TikTok. Many of her songs, like "Break It Off", became very popular on TikTok. This led her to sign with record labels Parlophone and Elektra Records. She released her first collection of songs, called a mixtape, To Hell with It, in 2021.

Her songs "Just for Me" and "Pain" were big hits in the UK in 2022. Her song "Boy's a Liar" reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. Her first full album, Heaven Knows (released in 2023), was popular in many countries. It included the UK top-20 song "Nice to Meet You". A remix of "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" with Ice Spice became a huge hit, reaching number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

PinkPantheress continued her success with her second mixtape, Fancy That, released in 2025. This mixtape reached number three on the UK Albums Chart. It featured popular songs like "Tonight" and "Stateside". The remix "Stateside + Zara Larsson" became her second top-ten hit in the US. It was also her first song to reach number one on the Billboard Global 200 chart.

PinkPantheress won the BBC's Sound of 2022 poll. She was also named Producer of the Year by Billboard Women in Music in 2024. In 2026, she won the Brit Award for British Producer of the Year. She made history as the youngest person and the first woman to receive this award. She has also been nominated for three American Music Awards and two Grammy Awards.

Her Unique Artistry

Musical Inspirations

RiP2013 Paramore Hayley Williams 0003
PinkPantheress has said that Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams (pictured) is a "big influence" on her music.

PinkPantheress chose her stage name from her TikTok account. It was inspired by a question from a game show about what a female panther is called, and by The Pink Panther film series. She has mentioned many artists who inspire her, including Imogen Heap, Lily Allen, Kelela, and Kate Nash. Other inspirations include My Chemical Romance, Michael Jackson, Blink-182, and Green Day. She has called Hayley Williams a "big influence" and said she wanted to be a musician after seeing Williams perform. She was also inspired by Doja Cat to pursue music and by Lil Nas X to post her songs on TikTok.

Her Music Style

PinkPantheress's music is often described as R&B, bedroom pop, pop, dance, alt-pop, drum and bass, and jungle. She frequently uses samples from 1990s and 2000s dance music, jungle, funk, and UK garage songs. Her songs are often short, usually two to three minutes long. She believes songs don't need to be longer or have many repeated parts.

She describes her music as alt-pop and a type of drum and bass that's easy to listen to at home. PinkPantheress often writes "sadder" or "dark" lyrics to appeal to young people. She likes to contrast these lyrics with her "happy instrumentals." She has said that her lyrics are usually not based on her own experiences, but rather on storytelling.

Music critics have noted her use of "fast-paced breakbeats" and "ASMR-like refrains." Her voice has been described as "sweet but unsettling," "angelic," and "girlish." Many feel her music blends old and new sounds, creating a unique style. PinkPantheress has expressed her desire to be taken seriously in the music industry. She believes people might be less willing to listen to electronic music made by a Black woman. She also acknowledges how her British background influences her sound.

When she first started performing live, PinkPantheress would carry a purse onto the stage. This helped her feel more comfortable and overcome stage fright.
