Early Life and Education
Sicily Sewell was born in Pontiac, Michigan. When her parents divorced, she moved to California with her mother and brothers. They moved to be closer to other family members. Sicily grew up in Los Angeles.
As an adult, Sewell studied at the Hollywood campus of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. This is a famous school for chefs.

Television and Film Roles
Sicily Sewell started acting when she was eight years old. Her first TV appearance was on an episode of Sesame Street. She played "Young Aisha" in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. She was also in a miniseries called Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers.
In 1998, she played young Diana in the popular miniseries Mama Flora's Family. She also appeared in the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back, playing the niece of a character played by Angela Bassett.
For four seasons, Sewell played Spirit Jones in the TV show One on One. Spirit was the best friend of Breanna Barnes, played by Kyla Pratt. In 2005, she left the show.
Sewell also appeared in the Lifetime movie Fighting the Odds: The Marilyn Gambrell Story in August 2005.
Becoming a Chef and Restaurateur
Sicily Sewell's family has a long history of being great cooks. She has said that she is much happier working as a chef and restaurant owner than she was as an actress.
In 2010, while she was still studying at Le Cordon Bleu, Sewell worked as an intern at the Los Angeles Times Test Kitchen. She later graduated from her culinary school with honors.
Sicily Sewell and her mother own a soul food restaurant called Pinky and Red's in Berkeley, California. Soul food is a type of cooking that comes from the Southern United States. In late 2019, Sewell became the chef at a well-known restaurant called Colors in New York City.
Personal Life
Sicily Sewell married Melanie Wilkerson in 2022. She has two daughters.
