Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a popular television show. It ran for three seasons, from 1993 to 1996. This show has 155 episodes in total. It first aired on Fox as part of Fox Kids. Later, it was shown again on ABC Kids in 2010.

This series is special because it lasted longer than many other Power Rangers shows. Many fans still think it is the best one. Like all Power Rangers shows, it is based on a Japanese series called Super Sentai. Each season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers used parts from a different Super Sentai show. These were Zyuranger, Dairanger, and Kakuranger.

Fighting Evil: The Story of Power Rangers

The show is about five regular teenagers. They are chosen to fight against evil villains. Their main enemies are the witch Rita Repulsa and the wizard Lord Zedd. These villains want to take over or destroy Earth.

The Power Rangers use special battle suits and weapons. They have swords, axes, bows, daggers, and lances. They also have huge robots called Zords. These Zords help them fight giant monsters. Rita and Lord Zedd have an army of fighters called Putties. Putties break into pieces when hit on their weak spot: a "Z" plate on their chest.

Season 1: Rita's Return

The story begins with Rita Repulsa. She was trapped in a prison on the Moon for 10,000 years. When she escapes, she wants to destroy Earth. She brings her helpers, like Goldar, a strong blue gorilla in gold armor.

To stop Rita, a wise wizard named Zordon chooses five teenagers. His robot helper, Alpha 5, assists him. The teenagers get special magic coins. These coins turn them into the Power Rangers.

Rita creates her own evil Power Ranger, the Green Ranger. She controls his mind. The good Power Rangers fight him and free him from her spell. But the Green Ranger's magic coin starts to hurt him. He gives his coin to the Red Ranger, who can use its power safely.

Season 2: Lord Zedd Arrives

A new villain, Lord Zedd, appears. He is even more powerful than Rita. He destroys the Power Rangers' Zords. Zordon uses the Green Ranger's old magic coin to create new Zords. These new Zords are based on fairy tale animals, like a unicorn and a dragon. The old Zords were dinosaurs, like the Triceratops and T-Rex.

Lord Zedd is unhappy with Rita. He sends her back to her moon prison. But later, a new Power Ranger shows up. He wears a white costume, and his Zord is a white tiger. This new White Ranger turns out to be the old Green Ranger.

Later, three of the original Power Rangers leave the team. They go to Switzerland. Three new teenagers from another school take their places. Rita also returns and tricks Lord Zedd. She gives him a love potion, and they get married! Goldar tries to break the spell, but Lord Zedd's love for Rita becomes real. They stay married.

Season 3: New Powers and a Big Threat

Rita's skeleton-like brother, Rito Revolto, visits. He succeeds where Rita and Lord Zedd failed. Rito destroys the Power Rangers' magic coins. The Rangers then seek out Ninjor, a powerful ninja who made the original coins.

Ninjor helps them by creating new coins and new Zords. The Rangers become Ninja Power Rangers. Their new Zords are based on animals like the wolf and the frog.

At the end of this season, Rita and Rito's father comes to Earth. He is very powerful. He uses magic to turn back time, making the Power Rangers into young children. They lose their ninja powers. They must find new powers to become heroes again. This leads into the next show, Power Rangers Zeo.
