Silvana Lima was born on October 29, 1984. She is a professional surfer from Brazil. Silvana grew up in Paracuru, Ceará, where her parents owned a small snack shop on the beach.
When she was only seven years old, Silvana taught herself to surf. She used a piece of wood and even made her own fin for it! She got her first real surfboard when she was 14.
Even though Silvana was a very talented surfer, finding sponsors was a challenge. To help pay for her travels to competitions, she started breeding French bulldogs. This shows how determined she was to keep surfing!
Silvana competed in the top surfing tours for many years. She finished 3rd in 2007. She was the runner-up (second place) in both 2008 and 2009. She also placed 4th in 2010 and 5th in 2011. Silvana proudly represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics in surfing.
