Silvana Lima was born in Paracuru, Ceará, Brazil on October 29, 1984. She is a professional Brazilian surfer. Silvana grew up near the beach, where her parents owned a small snack shop.
When she was only seven years old, Silvana showed her passion for surfing. She made her own surfboard by attaching a fin to a piece of wood. She taught herself how to ride the waves. By the time she was 14, she got her first real surfboard.
Silvana competed in the highest level of women's surfing for many years. It was hard for her to find companies to sponsor her. She explained that many surf brands preferred to sponsor surfers who looked like models, rather than focusing on their surfing skills. To help pay for her travels to competitions, she started breeding French bulldogs.
Silvana has achieved great success in the ASP World Tour. She finished 9th in 2006 and 3rd in 2007. She was the runner-up (second place) in both 2008 and 2009. She also placed 4th in 2010 and 5th in 2011.
She proudly represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
