Simón Brand (born July 28, 1970) is a famous film and music video director from Colombia. He is known for working with some of the biggest companies and music stars in the world. Brand has directed commercials for brands like Coca-Cola, Apple Inc., and BMW.
He has also directed music videos for world-famous artists like Shakira, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and Juanes. His movies have been very successful, especially in his home country of Colombia. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, Claudia Bahamón, who is a model and TV host, and their two children.

A Director's Journey
Early Start in Music Videos
Simón Brand's career in directing started when he was only sixteen years old. He directed his first music video for a Colombian band called Pasaporte. A couple of years later, he directed another video for the group Estados Alterados.
These early projects helped him get a scholarship to study in Miami. When he first moved to the United States, his job was recording his voice for telephone companies. After finishing his studies, Brand started his own company, Kree8, to produce his own commercials and music videos.
From Movies to Major Success
Before becoming a director, Brand studied communications and advertising at a university in Bogotá, Colombia. He also worked as a host at a local radio station.
In 2006, he directed his first movie, Unknown. He worked with famous Hollywood actors like Jim Caviezel and Greg Kinnear. The movie was a success and earned over $17 million around the world.
His second movie, Paraiso Travel, came out in 2008. It was the most-watched movie in Colombia that year. Time magazine even called it one of the best Latin American movies of the decade.
Because of his amazing work, Variety magazine named Brand one of the 40 most influential Latin Americans in Hollywood in 2006. He has also been nominated for major awards, including the Grammy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
