The Soldier Mountains are a group of mountains in Idaho, a state in the United States. They stretch across parts of Camas and Elmore counties. The tallest mountain here is Smoky Dome, which stands at 10,095 feet (3,077 m) (that's over 3,000 meters!). To the west and north, the mountains are bordered by the South Fork Boise River.

You can find these mountains inside the beautiful Sawtooth National Forest, just north of a town called Fairfield, Idaho. There's even a place to ski, the Soldier Mountain Ski Area, located on the eastern side of Smoky Dome. Near the western edge, on Iron Mountain, there's an old tower that park rangers used to watch for forest fires.

Many roads and trails wind through the Soldier Mountains. These paths are great for different activities like hiking, riding off-road vehicles, fishing, and hunting. Most of the mountain tops are fairly easy to reach, making them fun to explore.
