Solomon Wilcots (born October 9, 1964) is an American who used to play professional football. He played for six seasons as a free safety in the National Football League (NFL). He was part of teams like the Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers. After playing, he became a well-known television analyst and broadcaster. He also worked as a head coach in Your Call Football.

Playing Career
Solomon Wilcots went to Rubidoux High School in Riverside, California. He was a talented athlete there.
College Football Days
He played college football at the University of Colorado. His coach was Bill McCartney. When Solomon first joined, the team had a tough year. But during his time there, the team got much better. They had winning seasons and played in three bowl games. Solomon played as a defensive back. He also earned a degree in English literature.
Joining the NFL
In the 1987 NFL draft, Solomon Wilcots was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals. He was the 215th player picked overall, in the eighth round.
During his first year in 1987, he played in 12 games for the Bengals. He even made his first of two career interceptions. In 1988, he became a starter and played in all 16 games. He continued to play in all 16 games in 1989 and 1990, starting in 10 of them in 1990.
In 1991, he joined the Minnesota Vikings and played in all 16 games. His final season was in 1992, when he played in 16 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Broadcasting Career
After his playing career, Solomon Wilcots started working in television. He became a weekend sports anchor for NBC in Cincinnati from 1994 to 2003.
Working with ESPN and CBS
From 1998 to 2000, he was a sideline reporter for ESPN's Sunday Night Football. He even won an Emmy Award in 2000 for his sideline reporting.
In 2001, Wilcots joined CBS. He worked as a color commentator for CBS football games. This means he helped explain the game to viewers alongside the main announcer. He worked with different announcers over the years. He also became an analyst on the NFL Network's NFL Total Access show. On NFL Network, he would use special "all 22" game film to preview upcoming games. He announced he was leaving CBS in May 2017.
Other Broadcasting Roles
For several years, Solomon Wilcots also announced New Orleans Saints preseason games on television. He is now an analyst for Sky Sports in the UK. He also works as a guest analyst for Pro Football Focus TV.
