Solomon Wilcots, born on October 9, 1964, is a former American football player. He played as a free safety in the National Football League (NFL). After his playing career, he became a well-known television analyst and broadcaster. He also worked as a head coach in Your Call Football.

Playing Football
Solomon Wilcots went to Rubidoux High School in Riverside, California. He was a talented athlete there.
College Football Career
Wilcots played college football at the University of Colorado. He played for coach Bill McCartney. In his first year, he was a medical redshirt. This means he sat out due to an injury. The team had a tough year, winning only one game.
However, the team got much better during his time there. They improved their record each year. Wilcots played as a defensive back. His teams went to three bowl games. He earned a degree in English literature from the university.
Professional Football Career
In the 1987 NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals chose Wilcots. He was picked in the eighth round. He was the 215th player chosen overall.
During his first season in 1987, he played in 12 games for the Bengals. He made his first of two career interceptions that year. In 1988, he started all 16 games for the team. He played in all 16 games in 1989 as a backup defensive back. In 1990, he again played in all 16 games, starting 10 of them.
In 1991, Wilcots joined the Minnesota Vikings. He played in all 16 games for them. His final season was in 1992. He played in 16 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring.
Broadcasting Career
After his football career, Wilcots started working in television. He became a weekend sports anchor. He worked for NBC Cincinnati affiliate WLWT from 1994 to 2003.
Working for ESPN and CBS
From 1998 to 2000, he was a sideline reporter for ESPN's Sunday Night Football. He even won an Emmy Award in 2000 for his sideline reporting.
In 2001, Wilcots joined CBS. He became a color commentator for CBS football games. He worked with Ian Eagle from 2001 to 2008. Then he teamed up with Kevin Harlan from 2009 to 2013. From 2014 to 2016, he worked with Spero Dedes. He announced he was leaving CBS in May 2017.
Other Broadcasting Roles
Wilcots also worked as an analyst for the NFL Network. He appeared on their NFL Total Access show. On NFL Network, he was seen on "Playbook" each week. He used special game film, just like coaches and players do. He would preview upcoming games with other former NFL players.
He also co-hosted "The Opening Drive" on Sirius NFL Radio. He worked with people like Marty Schottenheimer and Carl Banks. For several years, Wilcots was a television announcer for New Orleans Saints preseason games. He worked alongside Tim Brando.
Today, Wilcots is an analyst for Sky Sports in the UK. He is also a guest analyst for Pro Football Focus TV. He was a Sideline Reporter during the 2012-13 NFL Playoffs as well.
