Tim Brando, born on February 27, 1956, is a well-known American sportscaster. He works for Fox Sports. Before joining Fox, he worked for CBS Sports, Raycom Sports, ESPN, and SiriusXM. Brando is mostly known for covering NCAA college football, college basketball, and the NBA. He has done many jobs in sports broadcasting, including hosting shows, announcing games play-by-play, and hosting halftime shows.

Tim Brando's Career in Sports
Tim Brando has had a long and exciting career in sports broadcasting. He started in radio and moved to television, covering many different sports.
Starting Out in Broadcasting
In 1976, when he was younger, Tim Brando worked as a disc jockey at a radio station called KROK-FM in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Later, from 1981 to 1986, he worked at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge. There, he helped manage the sports section and announced games for Louisiana State University's men's and women's basketball teams.
Working at ESPN
From 1986 to 1994, Tim Brando became a familiar face on ESPN. He hosted SportsCenter, which is a popular sports news show. He also hosted the halftime shows for college football and covered the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship for the network. In 1994, he announced games for the NBA Playoffs on TNT. He also called games for the Atlanta Hawks (basketball) and Atlanta Braves (baseball) for SportSouth.
Time at CBS Sports
In 1996, Brando joined CBS Sports. He started announcing games for the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. A few years later, he also began hosting College Football Today, especially when CBS was showing SEC football games. From 1998 to 2003, he also announced games for the NFL on CBS.
One memorable moment for Brando at CBS was during the 2008 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. He announced four first-round games in Tampa, where, for the first time ever, all four teams that were expected to lose actually won in the same place on the same day.
Moving to Fox Sports
On June 25, 2014, Fox Sports announced that Tim Brando would join their team. He became a play-by-play announcer for college football and college basketball games on Fox and Fox Sports 1. In October of that same year, he also started announcing NFL games as a backup announcer for Fox. His first NFL game for Fox was on October 19, 2014, between the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills.
Besides his work for Fox, Brando also announces basketball games for Raycom's coverage of the Atlantic Coast Conference. He also hosts Raycom's award-winning show called "Football Saturdays."

Tim Brando's Personal Life
Tim Brando's father, Hub Brando, was also a broadcaster at a radio station in Shreveport. Tim Brando finished high school at Fair Park High School in Shreveport in 1974. He then went to Northeast Louisiana University (now called the University of Louisiana at Monroe). He lives in Shreveport with his wife, Terri Glorioso Brando. They have been married for 41 years and have two daughters and four grandchildren.
