Somerton hosts an exciting annual event called the Tamale Festival. This festival helps raise money for students from the area who plan to attend Arizona State University.
More than 20,000 people visit the festival each year! The event is organized by The El Diablito Arizona State University (ASU) Alumni chapter. This group was started by ASU graduates who came back to live and work in the Yuma, Somerton, and San Luis areas.
