Somerville is a city in Burleson County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 1,312 people lived there. The city is named after Albert Somerville. He was the first president of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway.

About Somerville's Location
Somerville is located near the southern edge of Burleson County. To its west is Somerville Lake. This lake is a reservoir on Yegua Creek. Yegua Creek is part of the Brazos River system.
Texas State Highway 36 goes through the city. This highway leads northwest about 17 miles (27 km) to Caldwell. Caldwell is the main city of the county. The highway also goes southeast about 15 miles (24 km) to Brenham.
The city covers a total area of about 3 square miles (7.7 square kilometers). Only a very small part of this area, about 0.60%, is water.
