Son Eon-jin (Hangul: 손언진), born on January 11, 1982, is a famous South Korean actress. She is better known by her stage name, Son Ye-jin (Hangul: 손예진). She became very popular in 2003 with movies like The Classic and the TV drama Summer Scent.
Later, she starred in other successful films such as A Moment to Remember (2004) and April Snow (2005). These early roles earned her the nickname "Nation's First Love" in Korea. Son Ye-jin has won many awards and appeared in major films like My Wife Got Married (2008), The Pirates (2014), and The Last Princess (2016). Early Days and Big Hits (2000–2005)
Son Ye-jin started her acting career in 2000 by voicing a character in the film Secret Tears. She then took on main roles in TV dramas like Delicious Proposal and Great Ambition. Her first big movie role was in Im Kwon-taek's Chi-hwa-seon in 2002. This film was shown at the famous Cannes Film Festival.
Her biggest early successes were the films Lovers' Concerto and The Classic. The Classic was especially popular in places like Hong Kong and China. After playing sweet characters, Son Ye-jin decided to try different kinds of roles. In 2008, she played a woman who marries two men in My Wife Got Married. This role helped her win the Best Actress award at the important Blue Dragon Film Awards.
After a serious mystery film called White Night, Son wanted to do something more fun. She chose the romantic comedy TV series Personal Taste. Then, she starred in the horror-romantic comedy film Spellbound. This movie became one of the most successful Korean romantic comedies in recent years.
In 2012, Son starred in her first big action movie, The Tower. It was a remake of an old Hollywood disaster film. She returned to TV in 2013 with the revenge drama Shark. After that, she led Blood and Ties, a thriller where a daughter suspects her father in a crime.

In 2016, Son Ye-jin reunited with Kim Joo-hyuk in the political thriller The Truth Beneath. She received great praise for her acting in this film. She won Best Actress awards at the 25th Buil Film Awards and 17th Busan Film Critics Awards.
Next, she played Princess Deokhye in the true-story film The Last Princess. This movie was directed by Hur Jin-ho, who also directed April Snow. The film was very popular and earned a lot of money worldwide. Critics praised Son for her "outstanding" performance, saying she showed the princess's deep emotions very well. Helping Others (Philanthropy)
Son Ye-jin cares about helping others. On February 27, 2020, she donated 100 million Korean Won to the Community Chest of Korea in her hometown of Daegu. This money helped fight the spread of COVID-19.
On March 8, 2022, Son and her husband, Hyun Bin, donated 200 million Korean Won. This donation went to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association. It helped people affected by a huge wildfire that spread in South Korea.

Relationship and Marriage

On January 1, 2021, it was confirmed that Son Ye-jin was in a relationship with actor Hyun Bin. They had worked together in the films The Negotiation (2018) and Crash Landing on You (2019–2020). Their relationship started after Crash Landing on You finished filming.
Son and Hyun Bin announced their engagement on February 10, 2022. They shared the happy news on their social media. They got married in a private ceremony on March 31, 2022, with their families and close friends. On June 27, Son announced that she was expecting their first child. She gave birth to a son on November 27, 2022, whom she lovingly nicknamed Alkong.
