Stalden (German pronunciation: [ˈʃtaldn̩]) is a small town in Switzerland. It is located in the Valais canton, which is like a state or region. Stalden is found in the Visp district. It sits at the base of the huge Mischabelhörner mountains, including the Dom mountain, which is 4,545 meters (about 14,911 feet) tall.

Where is Stalden Located?

Stalden is in the Visp district. It is a special place where two valleys meet: the Matter Valley and the Saas Valley. This makes it an important crossroads in the Alps.

The town of Stalden covers an area of about 10.5 square kilometers (about 4 square miles). A large part of this land, about 72%, is covered by forests. Around 10% of the land is used for farming. About 6% of the area has buildings and roads.
