Star Wars: DroidWorks is an exciting computer game released in 1998. It was the first game from Lucas Learning, a company connected to LucasArts. This game is special because it helps you learn while you play! The people who created it wanted a game that was fun and didn't involve violence. They even used the same game technology as another popular Star Wars game, Jedi Knight.

In Star Wars: DroidWorks, your main goal is to save the galaxy. You do this by building your own droids! Each droid needs special skills, like being able to see in the dark or jump high. As you complete missions, you learn about important science topics. These include energy, force, motion, simple machines, light, and magnetism.

Star Wars: DroidWorks was very popular. Critics loved it, and it sold many copies. The game also won several awards for being a great educational game.

Build Droids, Save the Galaxy!

Star Wars Droidworks gameplay
In Star Wars: Droid Works you can customize your droid to perform needed tasks.

The story begins with C-3PO, R2-D2, and you, the player. The Rebellion sends you to the planet Tatooine. Your mission is to stop an Imperial droid factory. This factory is making droids for the bad guys!

Training to Be a Droid Master

Before you go to the factory, you must complete training. There are eight training missions and four secret missions. Each mission needs a droid with specific abilities. You'll learn how to build the right droid for each challenge.

Your Own Droid Workshop

You get to visit a special workshop run by the Jawa. Here, you can really make your droids unique!

  • You can paint your droids any color you like.
  • You can give them cool names.
  • You can even see your droid from every angle in a 360-degree view.

Create Millions of Droid Combinations

The game offers 87 different droid parts. You can combine these parts in over 25 million ways! This means you can build a truly unique droid every time.

Learning Science While You Play

As you build and play, you'll learn about many science ideas. This is called "experiential learning" because you learn by doing.

The game also encourages you to use math, logic, and critical thinking skills. There's even an in-game guide called 'InDex'. It helps explain different science concepts.
