The Stevens Point Brewery is a very old American company. It is a brewery, which means it makes drinks like beer. This brewery is located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, a city in Wisconsin. It is one of the oldest breweries in the entire United States. In fact, it's the fifth-oldest brewery that has been open without stopping. It's also the third-oldest brewery still owned by a private family or group.
This company has won many awards for its drinks. For example, its Point Amber Classic beer won gold medals in 1996 and 2012. Another drink, Point 2012 Black Ale, won gold in 2013. They have also won awards for many other products they make.

A Look at History
The Stevens Point Brewery started a long time ago in 1857. Two people, George Ruder and Frank Wahle, founded the company. Just a few years later, in 1864, the brewery even provided its beer to soldiers fighting in the American Civil War.
Over the years, the brewery had different owners. In 1867, Andrew and Jacob Lutz took over. Later, in 1897, Gustav Kuenzel bought the company. It was then called the Gustav Kuenzel Brewing Company. In 1902, its name changed to the Stevens Point Brewing Company.
Changes and Challenges
In 1924, Ludwig Korfman bought a big part of the company. He changed its name to the Stevens Point Beverage Company. During the 1920s, there was a time called the Prohibition Era. During this time, it was against the law to make or sell alcohol. Many breweries closed, but Stevens Point Brewery kept going.
In the 1950s, the brewery started using cans for its drinks. This was a new and modern way to package them. In 1973, a famous writer named Mike Royko said that Point Special beer was the best American beer in a taste test.
New Owners and Growth
By the 1970s, Felix and Ken Shibilski owned the company. In 1990, the brewery started selling its products outside of Wisconsin for the first time. They began selling in states like Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Minnesota.
In 1992, a company from Chicago bought the brewery. But in 2002, the Stevens Point Brewery was sold back to owners from Wisconsin. These new owners were Joe Martino and Jim Wiechmann. That same year, they started making tasty gourmet sodas in addition to their beers.
In 2003, Point Special beer won another gold medal at a big event called the Great American Beer Festival. The company continued to grow. By 2008, their products were sold in 18 different states. In 2011 and 2013, the brewery made its factory bigger. This allowed them to make even more drinks each year.
