Steven Bernard Hill (born April 19, 1958), known as Stevie B, is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. He became famous in the late 1980s for his freestyle and hi-NRG dance songs, especially in Miami. In 1990, he had a number-one hit song called "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)".

Stevie B's Early Life and Music Career

Steven Bernard Hill was born on April 19, 1958, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He worked many different jobs before he became known for his 1987 dance hit, "Party Your Body". This song was also the title of his first album in 1988, which sold enough copies to be certified gold. This means it sold over 500,000 copies!

In 1989, Stevie B had more popular songs that made it into the top 40 music charts. These included "I Wanna Be the One", "In My Eyes", and "Love Me For Life".

Reaching Number One with "Because I Love You"

Stevie B became very successful with his 1990 album, Love & Emotion. The song "Because I Love You" from this album was a huge hit. It stayed at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks in December 1990. This chart lists the most popular songs in the United States. He also had two other songs from Love & Emotion that made it into the top 15: "I'll Be by Your Side" and the album's title song.

Later Music and Collaborations

In 2009, Stevie B released an album called The Terminator. It included a new song, "Running for Miles", and a new version of his hit song "Spring Love". This new version featured the famous rapper Pitbull.

In 2019, Stevie B shared his thoughts on Facebook about the state of freestyle music today.
