Stevie B's Early Music Journey
Steven Bernard Hill was born on April 19, 1958, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Before becoming a famous singer, he worked many different jobs. He first gained attention in 1987 with his song "Party Your Body," which was a big hit in clubs across the country. This song was also the title track of his first album in 1988, which sold enough copies to be certified gold.
Rising to Fame in the Late 1980s
In 1989, Stevie B had his first songs reach the top 40 charts. These hits included "I Wanna Be the One", "In My Eyes", and "Love Me For Life". His biggest success came with his 1990 album, Love & Emotion. The song "Because I Love You" from this album was incredibly popular, staying at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks in December 1990. He also had two other songs from Love & Emotion that made it into the top 15: "I'll Be by Your Side" and the album's title track.
Later Albums and Collaborations
In 1995, a special album called "Dream About You" was released in the Philippines. It featured many of his popular songs from earlier albums, like "Funky Melody" and "Waiting for Your Love". It also included a live version of "Because I Love You" from a concert in Tokyo. Later, in 1998, a collection of his best songs, The Best of Stevie B, was re-released. This album showed off the light dance-pop sound that made him famous.
In August 2009, Stevie B released an album called The Terminator. This album included a new song, "Running for Miles", and a remixed version of his classic hit, "Spring Love". The remix featured the famous rapper Pitbull. Stevie B has continued to release music and perform for his fans.
