A Look Back at Strasburg's History
Strasburg started in 1902. This was when a new train track was built to the area. The city got its name from a town called Strassburg in South Russia. That town was founded by German immigrants in the 1700s. The Russian Strassburg was named after the historic German city of Strassburg in France. A post office has been open in Strasburg since 1903.

There are a few special historic sites in or near Strasburg. These include the Tirsbol Cemetery, Wrought-Iron Cross Site and the Wrought-iron cross sites of Holy Trinity Cemetery (Strasburg, North Dakota). Another important place is the Ludwig and Christina Welk Homestead.
