Stuart is a city located in the state of Iowa, United States. It is split between two counties: Adair County and Guthrie County. The part of Stuart in Guthrie County is also considered part of the larger Des Moines area. In 2020, about 1,782 people lived in Stuart.

History of Stuart
Stuart began in the late 1860s. This happened after the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad built its tracks through the area. The city is named after Charles Stuart. He was very important in bringing the railroad to this new city.
