Taco Time Northwest is a popular fast-food restaurant chain. It has more than 70 locations. Most of these are in western and central Washington state.
How Taco Time Northwest Started
The very first Taco Time restaurant opened in Eugene, Oregon in 1961. Just one year later, in 1962, a man named Frank Tonkin, Sr. opened the first Taco Time in Washington. This restaurant was in a place called White Center.
In 1979, the Taco Time restaurants owned by the Tonkin family became separate. They were no longer part of the original company. This led to the creation of a new company called Accord Inc. This new company managed the Taco Time restaurants in western Washington. Other Taco Time restaurants in eastern Washington (except for those in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee) and Oregon stayed with the first company.
Where You Can Find Taco Time Northwest
Taco Time Northwest has 79 restaurants. Most of them are in Western Washington, especially around the Seattle metropolitan area. There are also two restaurants in eastern Washington.
From 2012 to 2016, the company had a special food truck. It was called the Taco Time Traveler. This truck served a smaller menu in Downtown Seattle during weekday lunch hour. On weekends, it would go to community events and private parties.
