Takeshi Kamo was born in Hamamatsu, Japan. This was on February 8, 1915. He went to Waseda University. While he was a student there, he became a national soccer player.

Playing for Japan

In 1936, Takeshi Kamo was chosen for the Japan team. They went to the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany.

His first game was on August 4 against Sweden. Japan won this game in an amazing comeback. This was Japan's first Olympic soccer victory. It was a historic win against a very strong team. People in Japan later called it the "Miracle of Berlin."

On August 7, he played another game. This time, it was against Italy. In total, Takeshi Kamo played two games for Japan in 1936. His younger brother, Shogo Kamo, was also on the Olympic team.

Honors and Legacy

In 2016, the 1936 Japanese Olympic soccer team was honored. They were chosen for the Japan Football Hall of Fame. This shows how important their achievements were.

Takeshi Kamo passed away on March 26, 2004. He was 89 years old. He died in Kawasaki due to heart problems. He was the last player from the 1936 Olympic team who was still alive.
