A Look Back in Time

Tallapoosa was started in 1902. It was named after a place called Tallapoosa County in Alabama. The city has had its own post office since 1915, helping people send and receive mail for over a hundred years!

Where is Tallapoosa?

Tallapoosa is located right next to Missouri Route 153. It is about three miles south of Risco. It is also about eight miles southeast of Malden, which is in a nearby county called Dunklin County. The city of New Madrid is about sixteen miles to the northeast.
