Albert Simonyan (born December 5, 1962) is a famous Armenian singer and songwriter. He is better known by his stage name, Tata. Many people in the Armenian diaspora know his music.

In 2006, Tata was given the special title of Honored Artist of Armenia. This award recognizes his great contributions to music. In 2008, he was even nominated for "King of Pop" in Moscow. Tata has performed for fans all over the world. He has sung in countries like the US, Canada, Australia, and many parts of Europe. He has also performed in 45 cities across Russia. Besides singing, Tata has also acted in several movies. Today, he lives in Los Angeles, California.

About Tata Simonyan

Tata was born in 1962 in Yerevan, which is the capital city of Armenia. He went to Yerevan V. Terian Secondary School N 60 and finished in 1977. During his school years, he learned to play the accordion at a music school.

Tata began his music career in 1980. He started with a group called "Cilicia." In 1991, he released his first album, which was named Yerekon Idjav. He also worked on a project called "Yerevan-Moscow Transit." For this, he performed with popular Russian bands like "Otpetie Moshenniki" and "Reflex".

In 2008, Tata Simonyan helped create a TV show called "National Star." He was the artistic director for this project with Armenia TV. He has released eight albums where he wrote both the music and the words for the songs. Tata has also sung duets with other famous singers. These include Lyubov Uspenskaya, Anatoly Dneprov, Kristina Orbakaite, and Eva Rivas. From 2012 to 2013, he was a coach on "the Voice of Armenia" TV show.
