Taylour Paige-Angulo (born October 5, 1990) is an American actress. She became well-known for her role in the TV show Hit the Floor (2013–2016). She also starred in the movie Jean of the Joneses (2016).
Her big break came when she played the main character in the film Zola (2020). For this role, she won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. Taylour also appeared in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020) and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (2024).
In 2022, Taylour was featured on the song "We Cry Together" by Kendrick Lamar. This song reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She even received a Grammy Award nomination for her part in the song.

Early Life and Education
Taylour Paige was born on October 5, 1990. Her parents are Reginald Paige and Cheryl Williams. She was born in Santa Monica, California.
Taylour grew up in Inglewood, California, which is a suburb of Los Angeles. She has an older brother named Travis. Taylour started dancing when she was just two years old. She trained at several dance schools, including the Kirov Academy of Ballet. In 2001, she became a student of famous choreographer Debbie Allen.
Taylour went to St. Bernard Catholic High School. She graduated from there in 2008. In 2010, she became a Los Angeles Laker Girl. This is a professional cheerleading team for the Lakers basketball team. She was a Laker Girl for three months. She then left to finish college and start her acting career. Taylour is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University.
Acting Career
Taylour Paige appeared in many commercials and ads early in her career. These included campaigns for Transamerica, Best Buy, and McDonald's. Her first movie role was as a dancer in High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008).
First Big Roles
After some smaller roles, Taylour starred as Ahsha Hayes in the TV show Hit the Floor. This sports drama series aired from 2013 to 2018. She left the show in 2016 after three seasons.
In 2016, Taylour also played the main character in the movie Jean of the Joneses. This film received good reviews. She then had a supporting role in the crime drama White Boy Rick (2018). During this time, she also appeared in episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Ballers.
Breakthrough Success
Taylour's big breakthrough role was in the film Zola (2020). She played the main character, A'Ziah "Zola" King. Both the movie and her acting received excellent reviews. She won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead for this role.
In the same year, Taylour had a supporting role in the drama film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. This movie was also highly praised. She was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for her performance.
Music and Recent Projects
In May 2022, Taylour made her music debut. She was featured on the song "We Cry Together" from Kendrick Lamar's album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. This song was very popular and earned her a Grammy Award nomination. In September, she also co-starred with Lamar in a short film based on the song.
In November 2022, Taylour was part of Rihanna's Savage X Fenty Show. This was a fashion show for Rihanna's clothing line.
Taylour has continued to star in many films. She played the female lead in the superhero movie The Toxic Avenger, which came out in 2023. In 2024, she joined the cast of the action comedy Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. She starred alongside Eddie Murphy in this film. Also in 2024, she appeared in the comedy films Brothers and The Trainer.
Taylour is also set to appear in the HBO horror TV series It – Welcome to Derry. This show is based on Stephen King's novel It. It is a prequel to the It movies. She will also star in the science fiction comedy film I Love Boosters.
Personal Life
Taylour Paige was in a relationship with actor Jesse Williams from May 2019 to August 2021. On October 5, 2022, she married fashion designer Gary "Rivington Starchild" Angulo. They had announced their engagement two weeks before their wedding.
