Texas Country Music Hall of Fame facts for kids
The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame is a special place in Carthage, Texas. Carthage is a town in Panola County in East Texas. This Hall of Fame celebrates people who have done amazing things for country music. To be honored here, they must have been born in the state of Texas. This includes singers, songwriters, radio hosts (disc jockeys), and many others.
When you visit, you'll see a cool replica of a 1930s movie theater sign, called a marquee. It helps you remember how country music has been a part of movies. There's also a juke box nearby. You can pick your favorite country songs to listen to while you explore the museum.
The big marquee is actually the entrance to the Tex Ritter Museum. Tex Ritter was one of the very first singers to be honored in the Hall of Fame when it started in 1998. He was also from Panola County. The museum also has a display about his son, John Ritter, who was a famous actor.
