Teyba Erkesso Wako (born 30 October 1982) is a famous runner from Ethiopia. She is known for her amazing skills in road running, which includes long-distance races like the half marathon and marathon. She also competes in cross-country running, which involves running over natural terrain.

Teyba started running for her country when she was just sixteen years old. She quickly showed her talent, winning her first gold medal at the 2002 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. She helped the Ethiopian women's team win that competition. Early in her career, Teyba was a very important part of the Ethiopian team, helping them win many medals in international events. Her first individual medal was a bronze medal in the short race at the 2004 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.

She became especially well-known for her success in road running. She won the Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale when she was 21. In 2007, she decided to focus more on road running. After finishing fourth at the 2009 Chicago Marathon, she set a new personal best time of 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 53 seconds at the Houston Marathon. In 2010, she won two big races: the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon and the famous Boston Marathon. Teyba is often remembered for how she pushes the pace in the middle of a race, like she did in Boston and Houston, to pull ahead of other runners.

Teyba Erkesso's Running Journey
