The Rocketeer is a cool American animated TV show for kids. It first aired on Disney Junior and Disney Channel in the USA on November 8, 2019. Canadian kids could watch it on November 10.

The show is based on the famous comic book hero by Dave Stevens. It's also inspired by the 1991 movie. The story is about Katherine "Kit" Secord, a 7-year-old girl. For her 7th birthday, she gets a special family jet pack. This makes her the new Rocketeer! Critics generally liked the show. However, it only had one season.

Meet the Rocketeer: Kit's Story

In the town of Hughesville, 7-year-old Kit Secord finds out a big secret. She is next in line to become The Rocketeer. This superhero wears a jet pack and can fly! With her awesome new gear and secret identity, Kit flies high. She protects Hughesville and its people from danger.

Kit gets help from her best friend Tesh. Her loyal bulldog sidekick, Butch, is also there. And her airplane mechanic grandfather, Ambrose Secord, guides her.

Main Heroes

• Katherine "Kit" Secord (voiced by Kitana Turnbull) is a 7-year-old girl. On her 7th birthday, she gets the family jet pack. This shows she's the next Rocketeer, Hughesville's hero! Kit's catchphrase as the Rocketeer is "Never fear, I'm the Rocketeer."
• Ambrose Secord (voiced by Frank Welker) is Kit's 84-year-old grandfather. He is the son of the original Cliff Secord. Ambrose works as a mechanic at the Hughesville Airport.
• Mitesh "Tesh" Cheena (voiced by Callan Farris) is Kit's 8-year-old best friend. He acts as Ground Control when Kit flies. Tesh also invents cool gadgets and upgrades for her jet pack. He created Kitcom and the Kit Tracker.
• Butch (vocal effects by Frank Welker) is Kit's pet bulldog. He is also her loyal sidekick.

Friends and Family

• Dave Secord (voiced by Billy Campbell) is Kit's father. He is a stunt pilot, which is where Kit gets her love for flying. Billy Campbell also played the original Rocketeer, Cliff Secord, in the 1991 movie.
• Sareena Secord (voiced by Kathy Najimy) is Kit's mother. She manages and cooks at the Bulldog Café.
• Valerie d'Avion (voiced by Navia Robinson) is Kit's flight school classmate. She dreams of being a pilot. Her parents own the Valkyrie Flight Academy. Valerie has her own plane called the Korsican Skyfang 75. Her superhero name is the Valkyrie.
  • Snickerdoodle (vocal effects by Frank Welker) is Valerie's pet chihuahua.
• Officer Crowfoot (voiced by Robbie Daymond) is a Native American police officer. He arrests the bad guys that the Rocketeer stops.
• Mayor Primshell (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson) is the mayor of Hughesville.
• Aarush Cheena (voiced by Rahul Kohli) is Tesh's father. He owns Cheena Hardware and is the Scoutmaster for the Hughesville Trailblazers.
• Chandi Cheena (voiced by Sarayu Rao) is Tesh's mother.
• Sonal Udana Cheena (voiced by Sarayu Rao) is Tesh's baby sister. She was born in the episode "Special Delivery." Her middle name, Udana, means "flying." It's a tribute to the Rocketeer.

Villains Kit Fights

• Laura (voiced by Maria Bamford) and Harley (voiced by Kari Wahlgren) are two sisters who steal things. They use their stolen items for their heists. They often run from the police and the Rocketeer. Harley is the smart one, and Laura is a bit ditzy.
• Sylvester Slapdash (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) is a thief. He is a master of disguise. He uses many costumes in his capers and is known as the "Costumed Bandit."
  • Lilith (vocal effects by Frank Welker) is Sylvester's pet ferret.
• The Great Orsino (voiced by Charlie Adler) is a magician. He wants Kit's jet pack to become the first flying magician.
  • Deany (voiced by Parvesh Cheena) is the Great Orsino's clumsy assistant.
• Doctor Doodlebug (voiced by Luca Padovan) is a kid genius. He wears pillbug-themed armor. He invents machines for his plans using stolen garbage.
  • Newton (voiced by D. C. Douglas) is an A.I. in Doctor Doodlebug's wristwatch. Newton advises his master.
• Xena Treme (voiced by Stephanie Lemelin) is an extreme sports athlete. She has a big ego but acts laid-back. She will do anything to stay on top.
• Cast-Iron Chef (voiced by Ted Allen) is a food truck chef. He tries to steal secret recipes to improve his business. He has a high-tech gauntlet with kitchen tools.
• Norman Sinclair (voiced by Raphael Alejandro) is a descendant of Neville Sinclair. He wants to be the new Rocketeer. He tries to take the jet pack from Kit to impress his father.

Adventures and Episodes

The show has many exciting episodes. Here are some of them:

• First Flight (November 8, 2019): On her 7th birthday, Kit gets a mysterious package. Inside is the original Rocketeer helmet! Her grandfather Ambrose confirms it. Kit tests the jet pack, but she's new to it. When her dad has engine trouble, Kit becomes the new Rocketeer and saves him. Ambrose then lets Kit be the Rocketeer.
• Pilot Error (November 8, 2019): Kit trains with Ambrose and Tesh. Two sister thieves, Laura and Harley, steal a ladder. The Rocketeer can't hear Tesh and loses them. Tesh adds a communicator to her helmet. Ambrose suggests they listen to each other. The Rocketeer catches the thieves and thanks Tesh.
• Skyway Robbery (November 8, 2019): Sylvester Slapdash and his ferret Lilith rob places using disguises. They steal money from the Bulldog Café. Rocketeer chases them and gets the money back. They try to steal the jet pack, but Tesh's helmet records them. Slapdash tries to escape with the jet pack but crashes and is arrested.
• A Doggone Adventure (November 8, 2019): Kit's dog Butch and Ms. Snootsmith's dog Honey become friends. Laura and Harley try to steal Honey's diamond collar. They kidnap Honey and steal Ambrose's truck. Kit becomes the Rocketeer and saves the day. Laura and Harley are arrested.
• Ground Control to Rocketeer (November 15, 2019): Tesh has trouble keeping up with Kit. His bike falls off a cliff. He upgrades his bike, but it falls apart again. Kit and Ambrose encourage him. They build a water-powered vehicle. Tesh helps a pilot land her plane. He takes the name Ground Control.
• Save the Statue (November 15, 2019): Laura and Harley accidentally destroy the Rocketeer statue. The town is sad and can't afford a new one. Kit decides to hold an air show to raise money. The thieves try a heist during the show. The Rocketeer catches them. The show is a success, and a new statue is installed.
• Carnival Caper (November 22, 2019): Kit saves magician The Great Orsino and his assistant Deany. Orsino gets jealous of the Rocketeer's flying. He plots to steal the jet pack. Orsino tricks Kit, steals the jet pack, and flies off. The Rocketeer turns off the jet pack and saves civilians.
• Songbird Soars Again (November 22, 2019): Kit meets Old Lady Hopper, who owns the famous biplane, the Songbird. Kit helps fix the plane. May, the pilot, reveals her plane stalled once. The Rocketeer's jet pack gets damaged. Tesh calls May to rescue Kit. May becomes more social and thanks Kit.
• Downhill Derby (December 6, 2019): Kit and Tesh prepare for a downhill race. Child genius Rolland Poly, also known as Doctor Doodlebug, uses a snowmaking machine. His machine goes wild, making giant hail. Kit becomes the Rocketeer and stops the machine.
• Flight Class Heroes (December 6, 2019): Kit attends flight school. An experimental pilotless plane, the AVA 4000, is accidentally activated. Kit becomes the Rocketeer and uses a giant doughnut to replace a broken wheel. Valerie helps land the plane safely.
• Hypnotic Hughesville (December 13, 2019): The Great Orsino finds a hypno-wheel. He hypnotizes everyone into their favorite animals. Kit, Tesh, and Butch return to chaos. The Rocketeer helps citizens. They discover water can break the spell.
• The Piggy Bank Caper (December 13, 2019): Sylvester loses Lilith's coin. Kit finds it and puts it in her piggy bank, Paisley. Sylvester steals Paisley, but can't open it. Kit chases him as the Rocketeer. She gets Paisley back and returns the coin to Sylvester.
• X-Treme Hero (January 10, 2020): Tesh modifies his bike for the Extreme Sports Games. He meets his idol, Xena Treme. Xena is conceited and steals Tesh's bike. Kit as the Rocketeer chases her. Xena is reported and disqualified.
• Hot on the Trail (January 10, 2020): Kit and Tesh go hiking to see the Firefalls. Laura and Harley plan to steal a giant gem. The Rocketeer chases them. She catches them and puts the gem back.
• Valerie the Valkyrie (January 17, 2020): Valerie gets jealous of the Rocketeer's fame. She creates a costume and becomes the Valkyrie. Valerie starts manipulating situations. The Rocketeer saves Valerie from danger. Valerie decides to become a super-villain.
• Follow that Bulldog (January 17, 2020): Kit and her mom prepare Lebanese dishes. The Cast-Iron Chef tries to steal their family cookbook. He rips the Bulldog part of the restaurant off with his food truck. Kit becomes the Rocketeer and restores the Bulldog.
• Recipe for Disaster (January 24, 2020): Kit and Sareena prepare for Lebanese Lunch Day. The Cast-Iron Chef tries to buy their family recipe. He steals the cookbook at night. The Rocketeer saves the cookbook and the villain from a cliff.
• The Critter Gang (January 24, 2020): Animals start stealing food in Hughesville. The animals belong to Irma Philpot, who unknowingly sends them out. The Rocketeer and Tesh discover what's happening. Mrs. Philpot apologizes and tells the Critter Gang to return everything.
• Cleared for Takeoff (February 7, 2020): Kit wants to prove she can take flight classes. Her mom gives her a chore to deliver lunches. Kit helps Mayor Primshell and Valerie. Sareena lets Kit take flight school.
• First Class (February 7, 2020): It's Kit's first day in Flight School. She meets Valerie, who is overconfident. Valerie flies her plane in stormy weather. Kit rescues her and guides her to safety. Valerie apologizes, and Kit offers to be a true friend.
• Underground Doodlebug (February 21, 2020): Hughesville opens a Rocketeer museum. Rolland, as Doctor Doodlebug, wants to steal a rare action figure. He uses a "tunneler" to swipe the toy. The Rocketeer, Tesh, and Butch chase him. The action figure is returned.
• Bruce Goose (February 21, 2020): A gosling gets separated from his flock. Kit and Tesh name him Bruce. Bruce follows Butch everywhere. Ambrose says Bruce needs to leave for winter. The Rocketeer helps Butch say goodbye to Bruce and his family.
• Runaway Lilith (March 13, 2020): Sylvester and Lilith argue about flying. Lilith leaves to fly on her own. Sylvester asks the Rocketeer for help. Lilith tricks the Critter Gang into helping her rob a model airplane. The Rocketeer helps Sylvester rescue Lilith.
• The Hughesville Howler (March 13, 2020): Sylvester and Lilith pretend the Hughesville Howler monster is real. Lilith robs stores while Sylvester disguises himself. Kit and Tesh figure out it's a fake. The Rocketeer stops Lilith and captures Sylvester.
• Friends and Family Picnic (April 3, 2020): It's the annual Hughesville picnic. Valerie is sad her father can't come. His plane is grounded, and his jeep breaks down. Kit becomes the Rocketeer and brings Valerie's father to the picnic. They win the egg parachute competition.
• Lights, Camera, Action Hero! (April 3, 2020): Kit has trouble making U-turns while chasing Laura and Harley. Tesh records her, but accidentally records her removing her helmet. Laura and Harley steal the footage. The Rocketeer stops them. Laura accidentally records over the secret footage.
• Special Delivery (April 10, 2020): Tesh's mom, Chandi, is having a baby girl. Tesh's dad's train is stalled. Chandi goes into labor. The Rocketeer clears the rocks. She brings Tesh's dad to the hospital just in time. Chandi gives birth to Sonal Udana.
• The Hunt for Hughesberries (April 10, 2020): The Bulldog Café runs out of hughesberries. Kit and Tesh need to get more. The Cast-Iron Chef wants the last bush. The Rocketeer stops him and gets the bush back.
• Super Deany (April 17, 2020): The jet pack flies away and lands with Orsino. Deany figures out how to use it and becomes "Super Deany." He flies around Hughesville, saving everyone. The jet pack acts up again. Kit saves him, and Deany fixes the jet pack.
• Dr. Doodlebug's Fair Game (April 17, 2020): Kit and Tesh enter their art at the county fair. Doctor Doodlebug wants to win a plushie. He creates the "Hippo Vacuumus" from junk. It goes haywire and sucks up his A.I. watch. The Rocketeer teams up with Doctor Doodlebug to destroy the machine.
• The Valkyrie Cleans-Up (April 24, 2020): Valerie's family has to clean the Rocketeer statue. Valerie, as the Valkyrie, takes the statue to the lake. It falls to the bottom. Other villains try to find it dishonestly. The girls team up and bring the statue back.
• The Bank Job (April 24, 2020): Tesh saves money for a new flipboard. Laura and Harley try to rob the bank. Laura gets hired, but Harley tries to rob it alone. The Rocketeer helps Tesh earn money. Harley breaks in, but Laura was already doing the heist. They both get caught.
• Big Top Problems (July 4, 2020): Kit and Tesh visit the circus. Things are stolen during Orsino's act. They discover Sylvester and Lilith are the culprits. With Orsino's help, the Rocketeer and Tesh capture them.
• One Trick Phony (July 4, 2020): Kit is with Valerie in her new plane. Xena Treme convinces Valerie to let her use the plane for dangerous stunts. The Rocketeer intervenes. Xena steals the plane, but it sputters. Kit rescues Valerie and lands the plane.
• Pack-A-Doodle (July 11, 2020): Kit and Tesh go camping. Rolland, as Doctor Doodlebug, creates a robotic backpack called the Pack-A-Doodle. The backpack goes wild and attacks everyone. The Rocketeer rescues campers and traps the Pack-A-Doodle. Rolland promises to earn his badge the right way.
• Sitti's Visit (July 11, 2020): Kit's grandma Sitti visits for a cooking event. The Cast-Iron Chef tries to steal their cookbook. He accidentally causes chaos. Sitti talks to him, and he reveals he never cooked with his father. Kit gives him a book for new recipes.
• The Haunted House (July 16, 2020): Tesh is scared of a haunted house. Orsino and Deany are running it for money. Eddie the hamster runs in. Orsino tries to use Eddie as bait for the jet pack. Kit, Tesh, and Butch scare Orsino and Deany away.
• The Halloween Heist (July 16, 2020): It's Halloween. Sylvester and Lilith plan to steal costumes. They create a stampede of cows. The Rocketeer, Tesh, and Butch round them up. They stop Sylvester and Lilith from taking off with the costumes.
• The Christmas Star (July 17, 2020): Sylvester is sad he never got gifts as a child. He plans to steal gifts from Hughesville Santa. He steals the bag. Ambrose, playing Santa, learns the gifts are gone. The Rocketeer chases Sylvester. Sylvester and Lilith return the gifts.
• Scarlett's Search (July 18, 2020): Kit's Aunt Scarlett searches for Great-Grandpa Cliff's old airplane. Kit joins her. They find the plane through a waterfall. Scarlett learns Kit is the Rocketeer but keeps it secret. Kit will inherit the plane.
• Rocketeer Day (July 18, 2020): It's Rocketeer Day. Everyone remembers the original Rocketeer. Sylvester and Lilith try to steal a gold pocket watch. Kit figures out it's them. Ambrose opens the watch and finds a childhood drawing. They realize Cliff Secord was the original Rocketeer.
• Heart of a Hero (July 25, 2020): Kit meets Norman Sinclair, who wants her jet pack. He tricks Kit and takes it. Norman is a bad superhero. Kit, Tesh, and Butch team up with Sylvester, Lilith, Valkyrie, and Doctor Doodlebug to get the jet pack back. Kit saves Norman when his plane runs out of fuel.

Where and When It Aired

The Rocketeer first showed on Disney Junior, Disney Channel, and DisneyNOW in the USA on November 8, 2019. It came to Canada's Disney Junior on November 10, 2019.

The series also debuted in Latin America on April 6, 2020. In Spain, it had a preview on July 20, 2020, and officially started on September 28, 2020. Kids in the United Kingdom could watch The Rocketeer on Disney+ in October 2020. It aired on Southeast Asia's Disney Junior and France's Disney Junior in 2021.

The show ended on July 25, 2020. After the last episode, the series went on a break. It was then unexpectedly cancelled. A new movie, a direct sequel to the 1991 film, was announced for Disney+ the next year. This might be why the series ended.
