Thongsing Thammavong (born on 12 April 1944) is a politician from Laos. He served as the Prime Minister of Laos from 2010 to 2016. He is a key member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP).
Thongsing Thammavong has been an important figure in Laotian politics for many years. He was part of the LPRP's top leadership group, called the Politburo, since 1991.

Early Life and Career
Thongsing Thammavong was born in Laos on April 12, 1944. He joined the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, which is the ruling party in Laos. Over the years, he took on many important roles within the party and the government.
Role as National Assembly President
Before becoming Prime Minister, Thongsing Thammavong was the President of the National Assembly of Laos. This is like being the speaker of the country's parliament. He held this position from 2006 to 2010. The National Assembly is where laws are made and important decisions for the country are discussed.
Becoming Prime Minister
Thongsing Thammavong became the Prime Minister of Laos on 23 December 2010. The Prime Minister is the head of the government. This means they lead the country's daily operations and work with other leaders to make sure things run smoothly. He took over from Bouasone Bouphavanh.
Time as Prime Minister
As Prime Minister, Thongsing Thammavong was responsible for leading the government of Laos. He worked on various national issues and represented Laos on the world stage. His time as Prime Minister lasted for over five years. He left office on 20 April 2016.
Later Career
After his time as Prime Minister, Thongsing Thammavong continued to serve his country. He is still a member of the National Assembly of Laos. He represents the Luang Prabang Province, which is an important area in Laos.
