Thongsing Thammavong (born on April 12, 1944) is a politician from Laos. He served as the Prime Minister of Laos from 2010 to 2016. He is a key member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

Thongsing Thammavong's Political Journey
Thongsing Thammavong has been an important figure in Laotian politics for many years. He joined the LPRP Politburo in 1991. The Politburo is a small group of leaders who make important decisions for the party.
Leading the National Assembly
From 2006 to 2010, Thongsing Thammavong was the President of the National Assembly. The National Assembly is like the parliament or congress in other countries. It is where laws are made and discussed. As President, he led the meetings and work of this important group.
Becoming Prime Minister
On December 23, 2010, Thongsing Thammavong became the Prime Minister of Laos. The Prime Minister is the head of the government. They are in charge of running the country day-to-day. He held this important job until April 20, 2016.
Other Important Roles
Even after being Prime Minister, Thongsing Thammavong continued to serve his country. He is still a member of the National Assembly of Laos. He represents the Luang Prabang Province, which is a region in Laos.
