Thundorf is a town in Switzerland. It is located in the Thurgau canton, within the Frauenfeld district. The name Thundorf is pronounced "Toon-dorf."
This village sits on a high area above the city of Frauenfeld. In 1995, Thundorf grew bigger when the nearby villages of Wetzikon and Lustdorf joined it. Before that, Lustdorf was its own separate town.

History of Thundorf
The first time Thundorf was ever mentioned in writing was way back in the year 888. It was called Tuomsdorof or tuomesdorf then.
The name "Thundorf" comes from two old words. The first part, Duomo or Tuomo, was likely a person's name. The second part, dorf, means a small village or farm. So, it probably meant "Duomo's village."
Life in Thundorf Today
Thundorf is mostly a place where people live. It has a big school with more than 500 students. Even though over a thousand people live here, there's only one shop called "Volg" on the main street. This shop sells food and supplies for farmers.
To get around, people use a daily bus service that runs between Thundorf and Frauenfeld. The town is also known for its yearly "Banae Tanz" festival. This festival has been celebrated since shortly after the French invaded in 1798. It happens every year on September 9th.
