Tildenville is a small community in Orange County, Florida, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town with its own local government.
In 2010, about 511 people lived in Tildenville. Most of the people living there were African American. Tildenville is part of the larger Orlando–Kissimmee area. This bigger area is called a Metropolitan Statistical Area, which means it's a region with a large population and close economic ties.
Tildenville is a narrow area located along Orange County Road 545. It's south of Florida State Road 50 and north of a large housing area called Stoneybrook West. Even though Tildenville is its own community, people who live there get their mail through Winter Garden, Florida.
The community is named after Luther F. Tilden. He was an important pioneer (one of the first people to settle in an area) and a successful citrus farmer. He helped the community grow a lot. In the past, Tildenville was a larger area than it is today. Some well-known places like Tildenville Elementary School and Tildenville Marketplace are now inside the city limits of Winter Garden.
