Tom Wahl's is a popular fast-food restaurant chain. It started in the Rochester, New York area. Today, you can find several Tom Wahl's restaurants around the Finger Lakes region. In 2010, USA Today even called it one of the best burger places in the USA! Tom Wahl's is famous for its special "ground steak sandwiches." They also serve their own delicious root beer and tasty Abbott's Frozen Custard.
History of Tom Wahl's
The very first Tom Wahl's restaurant opened a long time ago. Tom Wahl, Sr. started it in March 1955. It was in a town called Avon, New York.
What Tom Wahl's Offers
Tom Wahl's is known for its "ground steak sandwiches." These are like their special hamburgers. They also have other tasty items. You can get french fries and their famous homemade root beer. Many people also love their frozen custard.
In 1986, the Tom Wahl's restaurant chain was sold. It was bought by Bill Gray's, Inc. For a short time, they tried a different kind of restaurant. It was called Wahl Street and had a more fancy feel. But this idea did not last long. The chain soon went back to its classic diner style.
You might have heard of "Wahlburgers." In 2011, a group that included Mark Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg got permission to use the "Wahlburger" name from Tom Wahl's. They used it for their own restaurant chain.
