Where to Find Top Pot Doughnuts
As of late 2023, Top Pot has 17 coffee and doughnut shops. Most of these are around the Puget Sound area in Washington state. The doughnuts are made in downtown Seattle and Bellevue. Then, they are shipped by truck to the other locations.
Top Pot also makes doughnuts for other big companies. Their recipes are used for doughnuts sold in over 7,000 Starbucks stores. You can find them in the U.S. and Canada. They also make doughnuts for a grocery store called QFC in the Seattle area.
Top Pot Doughnuts are the official doughnut at Lumen Field. This is where the Seattle Seahawks football team plays. It is also home to the Seattle Sounders FC soccer team. In 2011, Top Pot became the official doughnut and coffee for the Washington Stealth lacrosse team.
How Top Pot Got Its Name
The name "Top Pot" comes from an old neon sign. This sign was once above a Chinese restaurant called "Topspot." The brothers who started Top Pot bought the sign. While they were moving it, the letter "S" fell off! Co-owner Mark thought it would be a good idea to replace the "S" with a coffee pot.
Top Pot Doughnuts also roasts its own coffee. They do this at their 5th Avenue location in Seattle.
Famous Visitors and Fun Bets
Top Pot Doughnuts has had some famous visitors! In October 2010, the U.S. president at the time, Barack Obama, visited Seattle. He and Senator Patty Murray stopped at the Top Pot on 5th Avenue for doughnuts.
In January 2011, Seattle's mayor, Mike McGinn, made a fun bet. He bet a dozen Top Pot maple bars with New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu. This was for an NFL football game.
