How Doughnuts Get to Stores
The doughnuts are not made at every cafe. They are only baked at two main locations. These are in downtown Seattle and Bellevue. From there, trucks deliver the fresh doughnuts to all the other Top Pot cafes.
Top Pot Doughnuts in Other Stores
You can find Top Pot doughnuts in many other places too! Their special recipes are used for doughnuts sold in over 7,000 Starbucks stores. These Starbucks locations are in both the U.S. and Canada. You can also buy them at QFC, a grocery store chain in the Seattle area.
Top Pot at Sports Events
Top Pot Doughnuts are also a big hit at sports games! They are the official doughnut at Lumen Field. This is a large stadium in Seattle. It is home to the Seattle Seahawks football team and the Seattle Sounders FC soccer team. In 2011, Top Pot also became the official doughnut and coffee for the National Lacrosse League team, the Washington Stealth.
How Top Pot Got Its Name
The name "Top Pot" has a fun story! The founders, Mark and Michael Klebeck, found an old neon sign. It was above a Chinese restaurant that had closed down. The sign originally said "Topspot."
When they were moving the sign, the letter "S" fell off! Mark, one of the co-owners, had a great idea. He suggested they replace the missing "S" with a picture of a coffee pot. That's how "Top Pot" was born! Top Pot Doughnuts even roasts their own coffee beans. They do this at their 5th Avenue location in Seattle.
