Toy Story is a very popular series of computer-animated movies and a big Disney media franchise. It all began in 1995 with the first Toy Story film. These movies are made by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

The main idea behind Toy Story is that all toys are secretly alive, even though humans don't know it! The films follow a fun group of toys. The most famous ones are a cowboy doll named Sheriff Woody and a spaceman action figure named Buzz Lightyear. Famous actors Tom Hanks voices Woody, and Tim Allen voices Buzz. In the movies, these toys go on exciting adventures that help them grow and change.

The Amazing Toy Story Movies

The Toy Story series includes four main animated films:

• Toy Story 4 (2019)

The first Toy Story movie was very special because it was one of the first films ever made entirely with computer graphics! All the movies were produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

Who Directed the Films?

John Lasseter directed the first two Toy Story films. For Toy Story 2, he also worked with Lee Unkrich and Ash Brannon. Later, Lee Unkrich directed Toy Story 3. The most recent film, Toy Story 4, was directed by Josh Cooley.

How Well Did They Do?

The first three Toy Story films cost about $320 million to make in total. But they earned more than $1.9 billion around the world! Each movie broke box office records. Toy Story 3 was even one of the top 50 highest-earning films of all time worldwide.

All four Toy Story movies have received excellent reviews from critics. On the website Rotten Tomatoes, the first and second films both scored a perfect 100%! The third and fourth films also did great, scoring 98%. Toy Story 3 is the fourth highest-earning animated film ever and the 28th highest-earning film of all time. It was also one of only three animated films in history to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. The other two were Beauty and the Beast and Up.
