Trenton Jacoby Brown (born April 13, 1993) is a professional American football player. He plays as an offensive tackle for the Houston Texans in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for Georgia Military College and the Florida Gators. The San Francisco 49ers picked him in the 2015 NFL draft. Brown has also played for the Oakland / Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, and Cincinnati Bengals.

Early Life and High School Football
Trent Brown was born in Bastrop, Texas, on April 13, 1993. He went to Deerfield-Windsor School and then Westover Comprehensive High School, both in Albany, Georgia. In his first two years of high school, he played basketball. He started playing football during his junior year. Brown finished high school at Westover in 2011.
College Football Career
Playing for Georgia Military
In the fall of 2011, Brown started at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia. He played for the GMC Bulldogs for two years. During his time there, the Bulldogs' running game was very strong, averaging 188 yards per game. Brown showed great skill and was named a second-team NJCAA All-American in 2012. Many top NCAA Division I schools wanted him to play for them.
Time with the Florida Gators
Brown decided to continue his college career at the University of Florida. He signed with them in December 2012 and started in May 2013. Brown was very big for an offensive lineman, standing 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 363 pounds. He was one of the biggest players ever for the Florida Gators.
In his first year at Florida, Brown mostly played during field goals and special "Jumbo" plays. These plays are used when a team needs to gain only a short distance. He became a starting tackle during the Georgia game after another player got injured. For the 2014 season, Brown moved to play as a starting guard.
Professional Football Journey
Starting with the San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers chose Trent Brown in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL draft. He was the 244th player picked overall on May 2, 2015. In his first year, he played in five games and started the last two games of the season.
In 2016, Brown started all 16 regular season games for the 49ers. Other players noticed his talent. In 2017, Von Miller, a famous linebacker, called Brown "the best right tackle in the National Football League." He also said Brown might be "a top-five tackle, period." Miller praised Brown's height, size, and how well he could move.
In 2017, Brown started 10 games as a right tackle. However, he was placed on injured reserve in December 2017 because of a shoulder injury.
First Time with the New England Patriots
On April 27, 2018, Brown was traded to the New England Patriots. He had played right tackle for the 49ers, but with the Patriots, he became their starting left tackle. He started all 16 games in 2018. With Brown on the team, the Patriots made it to and won Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams.
Playing for the Raiders
On March 13, 2019, Brown signed a big four-year contract with the Oakland Raiders. This deal made him one of the highest-paid offensive linemen in the league. The Raiders' coach said Brown would play right tackle. In his first 11 games with the Raiders, Brown was very good at blocking, allowing only one sack. In December 2019, he was chosen for the Pro Bowl for the first time. Soon after, he was placed on injured reserve, ending his season early.
In 2020, Brown faced some health challenges. He was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list in October. Later, he was hospitalized before a game due to an issue with a pregame IV. He was placed on the COVID-19 list again in November.
Second Time with the New England Patriots
On March 17, 2021, Brown was traded back to the Patriots. He was named the starting right tackle. However, he got a calf injury in Week 1 and missed three games. He was placed on injured reserve in October but returned to play in November.
The Patriots re-signed Brown on March 21, 2022. He was expected to play right tackle again, but the team moved him back to left tackle during the 2022 preseason. This was the position he played when he first helped them win the Super Bowl.
Time with the Cincinnati Bengals
On March 19, 2024, Brown signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was named the starting right tackle for the season. During a game in Week 3, Brown suffered a serious injury to his knee. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve on September 24, 2024.
Joining the Houston Texans
On March 24, 2025, Brown signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans.
