Fishing Fun in Twentymile Creek
Twentymile Creek is a very popular spot for fishing. The Pennsylvania Fish Commission adds fish to the creek every year. They stock it with fish like steelhead and trout. This means there are always plenty of fish for anglers to catch.
Steelhead and Trout
Steelhead are a type of rainbow trout that live in both fresh and salt water. They travel from Lake Erie into Twentymile Creek to lay their eggs. These fish can be found in the creek all the way up to New York. Even though they go far, most people fish closer to the lake.
Brown Trout
New York State also works to add brown trout to the upper parts of Twentymile Creek. These brown trout also swim out into Lake Erie. Later, they return to the creek to lay their eggs. This helps keep the fish population healthy.
Good Fishing All Year
Because Twentymile Creek is an "approved trout water," you can often find good fishing throughout the year. If you want to visit, there are special places to get to the creek. These access points are marked along Route 20.
